October 13, 2019; Little Flower Deanery consisting of Our Lady of Health Shrine, Harihar, St. Thomas Church, Davanagere, St. Don Bosco Church, Davanagere, St. Francis Xavier Church, Channagiri, Nirmala Mathe Church, Harappanahalli, Christ the Redeemer Church, Honnali and Holy Spirit Church - Jagalur, held one day SCC Convention "Samudayotsava-2019" at the Shrine of our Lady of Health, Harihar.

Program began at 9:00am with the Holy Eucharist Celebrated by Most Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of the Diocese of Shimoga. Rev. Dr Anthony Peter- Dean and Parish Priest of Harihar, Frs Abhishek MSFS and Arul SJ, Assistants at Harihar, Fr Steevan D'Sa- Parish Priest of Davanagere, Fr Cyril Sagayaraj - Parish Priest of Davanagere Don Bosco, Fr Santhosh DC - Parish Priest of Channagiri, Fr Alvine Stanislaus - Parish Priest of Harappanahalli, Fr George Lobo - Regional SCC Director, Fr Harold Pereira - SCC Director of Udupi, Fr John Paul - SCC Director of Chikmagalur, Fr Arogyaswamy, Parish Priest of Joseph Nagar, Fr Venus Colaco, Director, Sahodaya concelebrated with the Bishop. In his homily Bishop explained that God is not limited to any race or clan or caste. So also SCCs also should reach out to one and all.

At 11:30am Bible procession led by Dean Fr Anthony Peter, which was followed by a meaningful enactment of the Parable of the Sower. Then Maria Nivas School children presented the theme song dance of "SAMUDAYOTSAVA".

At 12 noon Stage program was held. Rev. Dr Anthony Peter Dean of the Deanery gave the inaugural key note address wherein he spoke of the aggiornamento of Pope John the 23rd which gave a new direction to the Church. At 12.30 pm Fr. Harold Pereira, SCC Director of Diocese of Udupi gave the input session on SCC. He spoke on “Empowered Small Christian Community - Enlivened Parish Community." In his address Bishop Francis stressed the need of SCC's in the building of the people of God in the Church. He thanked the Parish Priests and Animators for their commitment. He declared that next year 2020 is dedicated to SCCs in the Diocese of Shimoga. He also asked people to strengthen SCCs. He congratulated SCC Director Fr Venus Colaco and Dean Rev. Dr Anthony Peter and all deanery priests for their meticulous planning.

Mrs Monica from Harihar welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Nancy from Davanagere compered the program. Mr. Maxim Tellis from Davanagere thanked everyone.

After the lunch biblical parables/ miracles were enacted by different parishes; Prayer Dance by St. Mary's, Praise and Worship Dance by Harihar, Blind man receives sight by Harappanahalli SCC, Jesus is the Centre of our life by Davanagere, David and Goliath by Don Bosco and Zaccaeus by Channagiri. It was really inspiring. From different SCC's faithful shared their experiences to the group.

Dean Rev. Dr Anthony Peter distributed certificates to A grade SCC's. Fr Venus gave the final remarks. On behalf of deanery Mrs Eliza of Davanagere shared her experience of the day. Fr Santhosh D'Cunha together with the Priests and religious blessed the people.
